Important Information for Users of QuickBooks Desktop
May 8, 2024If you are using a version of QuickBooks Desktop that was released prior to 2023 and it is not currently billed as an annual subscription, we want to ensure you are aware that Intuit has decided to stop selling QuickBooks Desktop to new U.S. subscribers.
You have until September 30, 2024, to upgrade to the new subscription based QuickBooks Desktop 2024. After September 30, 2024, Intuit will no longer be selling new subscriptions of the following products:
- QuickBooks Desktop Pro Plus
- QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus
- QuickBooks Desktop Mac Plus
- QuickBooks Desktop Enhanced Payroll
Note: QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise products are not impacted by this change, and this only affects users of QuickBooks Desktop who do not already have a subscription.
Intuit is encouraging customers to switch to QuickBooks Online; however, we do not recommend this for most clients. If you are considering switching to QuickBooks Online, please consult with a Siepert accountant first as we can give you guidance regarding which product is best for you or your business.
If you do make the switch to QuickBooks Online, we highly recommend that you allow us to facilitate the transfer of data. We do not recommend that you allow Intuit to handle this as we have had to correct many mistakes made by Intuit support.
